We have a fantastic opportunity for someone to join the Pure Hairdressing team as a Salon Assistant.
Who should apply?
The position would be perfect for a hairdressing student currently enrolled at college who would like to gain some valuable industry experience and hands on training.
Please note due to late evening hours this position is not suitable for students still attending school.
What are the hours?
Wednesdays 9am to 6pm & Thursdays 5pm to 9pm
As a Salon Assistant at Pure Hairdressing we will give you the ongoing support and training that you need to do the job.
Your responsibilities will include:
⇒ To greet clients as they arrive, offer and make welcome drinks
⇒ Prepare the clients ready for their stylists and make sure that they are comfortable
⇒ Shampoo, condition and provide a scalp massage
⇒ Mix and prepare colours for the stylists
⇒ Keep the salon clean and tidy, sweep the floor, fold towels, disinfect equipment and put away after use.
⇒ Restock retail items and note any that need reordering
⇒ Assist stylists as required, this may be combing a clients hair, updating or checking in on a client, bringing out items or putting things away. Anything that keeps the salon running smoothly and enables the stylist to concentrate on their current client
⇒ Helping out on the front desk, answering phone calls and booking appointments
Skills and qualities required:
⇒ Energy and passion for hairdressing
⇒ A good team player who is eager to get on
⇒ Friendly personality and good people skills
⇒ Committed, reliable and hard working
⇒ Keen to learn and practice
⇒ Self motivated with a drive to succeed
Why is the role important?
A good Salon Assistant makes such a difference to a clients overall experience. Greeting people with a smiling friendly face, giving them their welcome drink. Looking after them with an excellent head massage and shampoo while they wait for their stylist. Making sure that they are comfortable all times and that the stylist has everything to hand that they need to deliver a brilliant service in a clean and organised salon.
It’s a brilliant role for anyone interested in a career in hairdressing. It will give you a real insight into how the salon works, you will learn on the job as you go along picking up useful tips, hairdressing training and knowledge along the way.
